About us!

Balloon Event Agency

One of the most rewarding experiences of my profession is to see the looks of delight and awe on the faces of our clients, young and old, when they see how our decorative balloon art embellishes their parties, events and celebrations. We aim to inspire joy and bring out the inner child in everyone, no matter what the person's age.

Balloon Event Agency is just that—we create balloon art, décor and decorations for your events. We do weddings, christenings, children's parties, corporate events and more. We are located in Søgne, Norway, but we travel throughout the region to create unique, decorative, three-dimensional art with balloons. Our free consultations help us understand your ideas and communicate our interpretations back to you.

One of the most common questions I am asked is, "Do you sell balloons?" As odd as it sounds, we don't. We use balloons as an artistic medium to create shapes and decorate. We use balloons to embellish walkways, create wall panels and arches and re-create icons such as logos. We even make realistic animal forms like panda bears and giraffes. We use balloons to add color, shimmer and form to any event.

Balloon Event Agency Business Ethos

I am Isaiah O'Connor, Certified Balloon Artist. I received my certification in balloon art from Qualatex, the world leader in international balloon décor certification. A CBA is trained in all aspects of being a balloon professional and must successfully pass several exams that demonstrate expertise.

This includes understanding business operations, how to use needed materials, estimating how many balloons are needed for a project, how to use the principles and elements of design to create a composition and, finally, building the creation. Most importantly, we learn how to use balloons safely. We follow Smart Balloon Practices, industry standards followed by responsible CBAs to keep children safe and limit impact to the environment.

We are a family-owned business and operate under the principles of treating others as we wish to be treated. We run our business with integrity and treat our clients with respect.

We started in 2013 as Unplugged Entertainment, doing entertainment primarily for children's parties and events. One of the most popular activities was making shapes and forms with balloons. We began to get more requests for balloon décor and fewer for clown acts and juggling. That helped us shift the focus of the business to the new art form of balloon décor.

Today, we specialize as balloon artists. We provide balloon art at events, but we do not put an entire event together. Instead, we work with event planners, florists and decorators to provide balloon art for events of all kinds. We love to do weddings to help our clients celebrate their special day. We consider our work a success when we know that our balloon decorations helped make your event a success.

Fun Facts About Balloons

Balloon art is a pretty new profession, begun in the late 1970s by Treb Heining. He was the first person to use balloons to create decorative architecture such as arches and columns.

He used more than 1,000 five-foot balloons to form a welcoming message for guests at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Balloon drops at Times Square on New Year's Eve, Academy Awards decorations and custom balloons of fairytale personalities are among his innovative uses of balloons. He also teaches people how to create an atmosphere and festive environment with balloons.

Many people worry about the environmental effects of balloons. We use high-quality latex balloons that are biodegradable. Latex is a natural product of the rubber tree. The tree is not harmed when the latex is harvested. Rubber trees can produce latex for as long as 40 years.

Balloons have been around for centuries on all continents. Originally made of animal bladders or intestines, balloons were used to entertain, as art and even as part of sacrifices to the gods. The modern rubber balloon is credited to inventor Michael Faraday, who discovered in 1824 how to join sheets of rubber together to hold air.

We can embellish balloons to suit your event by adding numbers, messages, logos or names. For weddings, we can create shapes in the names of the bride and groom, hearts or decorative arches for the bridal procession. We are authorized to use character balloons that add a fun element to a children's party.
