At Balloon Event Agency, we believe memorable celebrations and responsible balloon use can go hand in hand. Our balloons are used in secured décor, installations, and entertainment designed to stay where they belong.
We do not offer balloon releases. Instead, balloons are incorporated into arches, garlands, columns, and arrangements.
Our goal is simple: create exciting, beautiful balloon experiences while being thoughtful about their impact on the environment.
I am Isaiah, a balloon artist and proprietor of Balloon Event Agency, Norway. I take great pleasure in creating fun, innovate shapes and designs with balloons to entertain and create a sense of joy for people of all ages. As a concerned professional and global citizen, I care about the environment. Some people think that balloons are bad for the environment. As with any other product, the way a material is used and the way it is disposed of plays a significant part in whether it becomes harmful to people, animals, water, the air or any other environmental element of our planet. I advocate the safe, responsible use of balloons to protect the environment and wildlife.
We follow Smart Balloon Practices put out by the Balloon Council. We believe in educating the public about the safe use of balloons and the importance of "Pin It and Bin It" for disposal. I am fighting the misuse of balloons so that people can enjoy them and be assured that the way they are used does not harm the environment.
Latex is the natural sap of the rubber tree. It is not plastic. There is no deforestation involved in harvesting latex. Sap is collected from rubber trees by tapping into the tree, just like maple syrup is collected from maple trees. Rubber trees have about 32 years of productive life but can live as long as 100 years. They help clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. They are an important element of a rainforest's ecosystem.
Latex is used to make many objects, including gloves, balloons, rubber bands, condoms and baby pacifiers. Latex is biodegradable, and balloons made from latex are biodegradable. How quickly they biodegrade depends on climate, temperature and other variables, such as moisture, sunlight and size. Studies show it can take between several months and a few years for pieces of latex balloons to biodegrade depending on conditions.
Some people advocate banning balloons as a way to get rid of balloon litter. I advocate educating people about safe ways to enjoy and dispose of balloons. Latex balloons can be composted because they biodegrade. Foil and plastic balloons can be recycled. I work with other balloon professionals to ensure we ply our trade in a responsible manner. This includes guiding our customers in finding ways to enjoy balloons without harming the environment.
